Foundation Board

The Foundation Board of the LIB oversees the legality, expediency, and economic efficiency of the Foundation's activities in accordance with the currently valid statutes (german version). It has a comprehensive right and is obliged to be informed on these matters by the LIB.

In accordance with Section 6 (1) of the LIB statutes, the Foundation Board consists of one representative each from the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the Federal Government, the University of Bonn and the University of Hamburg.

The Board of Trustees also includes up to six further members. They are appointed by the Ministry responsible for research of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in agreement with the Ministry responsible for research of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the Ministry responsible for research of the Federal Government. These persons should be particularly suited to support the tasks of the Foundation Council. When appointing them, the Act on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia of 9 November 1999 (GV. NRW. p. 590), as amended, must be observed.
