The Student Club of the ZFMK

Students of the University of Bonn as well as from other universities and countries are given the possibility to do internships and write theses as well as dissertations at the Museum Koenig. The result is a diverse and heterogeneous student population with different knowledge and needs. The Student Club at the Museum Koenig promotes exchange and networking among all students. Furthermore, it serves to mediate organizational, technical, and private assistance as well as knowledge.

The students meet on a monthly basis after coordination of dates within an informal framework to discuss scientific and non-scientific matters, pratice talks, present own and external scientific studies to each other, and to talk about the ongoings at the museum.

All supervisors are urged to motivate their students to partake in the Student Club.

Each February, the students elect from their ranks one representative and its substitute for one year. The representative takes part in the internal scientist's council of the museum and forms thus a link between students, administration, and scientists. Furthermore, the spokesperson represents the doctoral students of the institute at the meetings of the PhD representatives of the Leibniz Association. In absence of the representative, the substitute takes over his/her duties.

Current issues:

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the students of the ZFMK meet regularly once a week for a virtual coffee break. All students affiliated with the ZFMK are cordially invited to join. Please contact students [at] leibniz-zfmk.de for the link.
